Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin announced the results of Operation Guardian, a 72-hour, 15-state operation “targeting illegal aliens with unauthorized CDLs and public safety threats in the trucking industry.”
The haul: more than 230 illegal aliens arrested, including more than 40 commercial driver’s license holders who have been removed from American roads.
“Now we’ve all sat here and talked multiple times about the danger that we have when you have states like California and New York that issue CDLs to individuals that are not qualified to drive,” Mullin said. “I don’t know why it’s even controversial to be having this conversation.”
The fix is simple, the Secretary said. These states should revoke the licenses they handed out, “tens of thousands of them.” DHS put the stakes bluntly: “Too many American lives have been lost because sanctuary states have issued CDLs to tens of thousands of illegal aliens.”
Under President Trump, the trucks on your highway are driven by people who are here legally and qualified to drive. Keeping it that way is on the ballot Tuesday, Nov. 3.
