Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin told the story of one girl, and it says everything about what sanctuary policy costs. During Operation Guardian, he said, officers located a 17-year-old girl who was traveling with six men, all in this country illegally, who either had criminal records or final deportation orders. They were traveling from Arizona across the country.

“We’d been looking for her,” the Secretary said, and the operation found her.

“Can you imagine what this young girl, 17, who’d been trafficked for years, has went through?” Mullin asked. “And you still want to say that sanctuary policy is a good thing? If that doesn’t break your heart I don’t know what does. If that doesn’t wake you up, then what does?”

“That should piss everybody off,” he said. “I don’t care if you’re Republican, Democrat, I don’t care who you are.”

Under President Trump, DHS is going after the people who prey on children instead of hiding them from ICE. Sanctuary politicians want the opposite. That choice is on the ballot Tuesday, Nov. 3.
