Vice President JD Vance took the America First message to Castro County, Texas, on Thursday, where a new beef processing facility is opening. “I am a big believer that our movement at its heart, our movement is about sovereignty,” he said. “It is about the fact that the people’s government belongs to the people.”

“It doesn’t belong to the bureaucrats. It doesn’t belong to the fraudsters. It doesn’t belong to far left politicians,” the Vice President said. “It belongs to the people who built the United States of America.”

He said the movement is about “preserving the jobs and the communities and the families who grow our food, who fight our wars, and who build the things that keep the United States afloat.” And he pointed to how much has changed: “We put, finally, American workers back at the center of our trade policy. We’re fighting for American jobs. Our nation is building again.”

“We’ve seen an unbelievable, almost unfathomable, $670 billion in new manufacturing investments, in new ports, in new refineries, in new factories, and more,” Vance said. “If a company wants to grow, it should do so right here in the United States of America.”

Vance credited Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s advocacy and the work of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins for the new plant, which he wrote on X means “a fair shake for ranchers” and “hundreds of new jobs right here in Texas.” His closing line: “The great state of Texas is leading the way for an American Renaissance.”
