President Trump brought the closing argument of the midterms to Rock Hill, South Carolina, on Thursday, and he put the Democrats’ voting record front and center. “Every single Democrat in Congress voted against our tax cuts,” he said. “Every single Democrat, it’s hard to believe.”
“They voted against no tax on tips. They voted against no tax on overtime. They voted against no tax on Social Security for our seniors,” the President said. Then he added: “They voted against voter ID because they want to cheat. They voted against proof of citizenship because they want to cheat.”
“They voted against securing our border,” he continued. “They voted in favor of the worst inflation and highest energy costs in American history,” and in favor of “men playing in women’s sports.”
The President also pointed to the jobs coming to Rock Hill itself. “Right here in Rock Hill, Octapharma is investing $1.5 billion to build a new massive factory and create 1,500 jobs,” he said, and the engineering company Re:Build “is tripling its Rock Hill facilities and creating 150 jobs in the community.”
He said the reason is simple. “Thanks to my tariffs on steel and aluminum,” companies “are all pouring back in because they don’t want to pay tariffs,” President Trump said. “You build here, you don’t pay tariffs.” South Carolina votes Tuesday, Nov. 3.
