Iowa’s senior senator got a shout-out from the President on Sunday. Spotting Sen. Chuck Grassley and his wife in Dubuque, President Trump told the crowd, “We have a man named Grassley. He is an amazing man.”

The President joked that Grassley’s long marriage “lasted slightly longer than my marriages, so in that regard he was far superior to me.” Then he praised the senator’s grit: “Boy, he’s a tough cookie too.”

“When he gets angry, I watched him screaming at Comey once. ‘Sir, did you lie?’” Trump recalled. “He’s got a very powerful voice. Comey didn’t know what to say. He totally screwed up and now he’s in trouble because of it.”

Then a promise for Iowa’s corn growers. “We’re working on that E15 stuff that you bugged me about all the time, okay?” the President told Grassley. Year-round E15 means more demand for Iowa corn and more choice at the pump.

Grassley has spent decades demanding answers from Washington. Now he has a President who listens, and Iowa farmers are set to benefit. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
