President Trump stood by the Bolsonaro family on Saturday night. A reporter asked whether he had any plans to meet with Flávio Bolsonaro while in Florida.
“No plans to meet, but I think he got treated very shabbily,” the President said. “Very shabbily. So he can stay here as long as he wants.”
Trump did not hold back on what happened in Brazil. “In my opinion, the election was a disgrace,” he said. “He got treated very shabbily.”
President Trump has been clear that elections have to be indisputable, at home and abroad. America will not pretend a disgraceful election was fine, and it will not turn its back on allies who were treated unfairly.
