President Trump is not backing down on California’s ballots. Asked by reporters about a judge’s ruling that refused to throw out roughly 20,000 flagged votes, the President said the fight goes on. “The judge should not have done that, but we’ll appeal that, of course,” he said.

He did not mince words about the state. “California is very corrupt. The elections are extremely corrupt,” President Trump said. “It’s a corrupt state and very, very corrupt elections.”

The President said the 20,000 ballots are only the start. “We found 20,000, but there are hundreds of thousands of bad ballots, bad votes in California,” he said. “Millions, in my opinion. Millions.”

Asked whether Democrats will try to steal the governor’s race from Republican Steve Hilton, he answered in two words: “Of course they are.” And he said an honest count would have changed his own result in the state too. “If California were honest, if they had an honest vote count, I would have won it by a lot.”

With the midterms on Tuesday, Nov. 3, the message from the White House is simple: every legal vote should count once, and every illegal one should be thrown out. The administration is taking that fight to the appeals court.
