Northeast Tennessee has not forgotten who showed up when Hurricane Helene tore through the region, and one Washington County Republican leader is making sure voters remember.

“Hi, my name is Rhett Allen. I am a business owner and the chairman of our Washington County Young Republican organization,” he says in a new video from Team Marsha. “And I will be supporting Marsha Blackburn to be the next governor of the state of Tennessee come this November.”

The reason is personal. “In 2024, when Hurricane Helene struck our great state and our region of Northeast Tennessee, Marsha Blackburn was one of the first elected leaders on the ground ready to offer us a shoulder to cry on,” Allen says. “And she helped to direct state and federal aid to our region when we needed it the most.”

“She cares about Northeast Tennessee, and she’s going to make a great governor for the state of Tennessee,” he says. “And I’ll be voting for her, and I think you should too.”

Tennessee’s early voting runs through Thursday, Oct. 29, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Blackburn, endorsed by President Trump, faces Democrat Jerri Green in the race for governor.
