America is getting safer, and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin says there is one reason why. “You’re seeing crime rates drop because of the enforcement that President Trump has tasked the Department of Homeland Security” with, Mullin said Wednesday. “We take care of the homeland, to take these worst of the worst off our streets.”
The results are historic. “You see murder rates drop to a 126-year low,” Mullin said. “You see violent crimes drop into 30-to-40, 50-year lows.”
Mullin reminded Americans that the border did not fix itself. “President Trump has made it very clear he can secure the border,” he said. “It was Biden that said he needed Congress to act. We didn’t need Congress to act. We needed a new president.”
With the border locked down, the focus has turned to America’s cities. “Because of President Trump’s leadership, we do have a secure border,” Mullin said. “And now we can focus on our inner cities.” He pointed to the millions of illegal aliens let loose under the last administration and the dangerous criminals DHS has since taken off the streets: “The numbers are crazy.”
The White House marked the moment by thanking America’s first responders for helping achieve “the most secure border in history,” slashing fentanyl and driving “crime to historic lows.” President Trump promised to Make America Safe Again, and the numbers show he is delivering.
