Vice President JD Vance took the closing argument to Rome, New York, on Monday and boiled it down to one word. “More than anything else, ladies and gentlemen, our movement is about sovereignty,” he said. “It’s about returning control of the United States to the people in this building. It’s about returning control to you.”

He ran through what Republicans delivered “in just the past 18 months,” with help from “very smart, very capable New York leaders like Elise.” “We ended taxes on overtime. With their help, we ended taxes on tips. And with their help, we ended taxes on Social Security,” Vance said.

“We took money away from the fraudsters and the bureaucrats,” the Vice President said, “and we put it back in your hands, which is exactly where it belongs.”

The investment is coming too. “We brought trillions of dollars in new investment to American shores,” Vance said. “Right here in Rome, Chobani is putting $1.2 billion into a brand new dairy plant for the people of this district.”

The closing message is simple: keep the tax cuts, keep the investment coming and keep control with the people. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
