President Trump drew a sharp line on Sunday between the Obama approach to Iran and his own, and he did not hold back on the deal that started it all.
“When I see Obama talking about the JCPOA, that may have been the worst and dumbest deal I’ve ever seen,” the President told Sunday Morning Futures. “He gave them billions and billions of cash.” He recalled $1.7 billion “in green cash” loaded onto a jet “where they stripped all the seats out of the plane… and they put cash in the plane.”
“He tried to buy his way out of it, and they used it to try and create nuclear weapons, and they bought missiles all over the place,” Trump said. “It was 1.7 in green. But it was tens of billions.”
“They thought he was a sucker. And they take advantage of suckers,” the President said. “And I’m not a sucker. That I can tell you. They have never been hit so hard.”
Now Trump holds the leverage. “Do I make a deal with them or do I finish them off? That’s my only question,” he said. “Remember, we now control the Hormuz Strait. They get nothing. We get everything.” He praised the Navy blockade and the military as “unbelievable.” Peace through strength, not pallets of cash.
