President Trump on Sunday took aim at the Democrats’ so-called “Medicare for All” push and the government takeover of health care it would bring.

“It’s socialized medicine and it has never worked. It’s expensive. People that have cancer, they can’t see you for nine months. It’s crazy,” the President said, as quoted by the White House’s Rapid Response 47 team.

Trump pointed north for proof. He said friends who live in Canada, “when they need medical, you know, help, they come to the United States,” and that Britain and other countries with government-run systems face the same trouble.

He warned what the plan would mean for working families who already have coverage they like, including union members with strong private plans: “You tell the auto workers they’re going to lose their health care plan.”

It is a clear choice heading into the midterms. President Trump is cutting drug prices through Most Favored Nation pricing and TrumpRx while protecting the plans Americans earned, while Democrats are pitching a system that sends patients to the back of the line.
