President Trump brought the house down in Lubbock on Tuesday night with the story of one of his most famous nicknames. “Pocahontas, I told you, how about Pocahontas? Elizabeth Warren,” he said.
Trump said the Massachusetts Democrat built her career on a claim of Native American heritage because “her mother told her years ago she has high cheekbones.” “She spent her whole life using that to get good jobs,” he said.
“I came up with the term Pocahontas and it destroyed her political career, actually,” Trump said. “She was leading for president.”
Then came the DNA test. Trump said Warren was thrilled to release the results, but “it really said she wasn’t an Indian, and then she went down the tank.”
“But this is the people we have to deal with,” the President told the Texas crowd. “These are people that don’t love our country. These are sick people.” One week out, his message was clear: don’t hand the country back to them.
