President Trump brought good news to Rock Hill, South Carolina, on Thursday. “Right here in Rock Hill, Octapharma is investing $1.5 billion to build a new massive factory and create 1,500 jobs for a place called South Carolina,” he told the crowd. “Have you heard of it?”

“And earlier this month, the engineering company Re:Build announced that it is tripling its Rock Hill facilities and creating 150 jobs in the community,” the President said. “That’s a good company.”

He explained why the factories are coming. “Thanks to my tariffs on steel and aluminum,” he said, industries that “were all leaving our country” are back. “Now they’re all pouring back in because they don’t want to pay tariffs.”

“It’s very simple,” Trump said. “You build here, you don’t pay tariffs. You want to build outside? That’s fine. Send your stuff in, you pay tariffs. Guess what? They come in.”

“So it’s not only the money that we’re taking in,” the President said, “it’s also the fact that none of our businesses are ever going to leave.” Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
