President Trump asked Fort Myers a simple question on Friday and answered it himself. “Why do they want no voter ID?” he said of the Democrats. “They want to cheat. Because it’s the only way they can win, because their policies are so bad they have to cheat.”
He ran through the record. “Every single Democrat in Congress voted against our tax cuts,” the President said. “They voted against No Tax on Tips. They voted against No Tax on Overtime. They voted against No Tax on Social Security for our great seniors. They voted against voter ID. They voted against proof of citizenship. They voted against securing our borders.”
He acted out the moment Democrats fear most at the polls. “Why do they want a man not to come up to them and say, sir, may I see your proof of citizenship, sir?” If Democrats ever won, he warned, “your borders would be open. They’d have no voter integrity.”
The President reminded the crowd where the country was two years ago. “The last time the radical Democrats had power, they gave us the worst inflation in American history, the highest energy prices in American history,” he said, plus “the worst trade deficit” and 25 million people across the border. Now, he said, inflation over the last three months was 1.7 percent.
“If they win the midterms, they will do it again,” the President said. “You go back two years ago, we were living in a dark age. The proud people of Florida will never let that happen.”
