President Trump had “a little breaking news” for Fort Myers on Friday. “I was saddened to hear that Ilhan Omar is not her name,” he told the crowd. “The one she used to get elected and sworn into Congress… but rather it’s an entirely different name, named Ilhan Nur Said Elmi.”

The name comes from a Justice Department filing in D.C. federal court this week, which refers to the Minnesota Democrat as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.” In it, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro’s office asked the court to keep the search warrant for Omar’s Washington home sealed until agents finish executing it.

The President pointed out what everyone noticed. The last name, he said, is “the exact name of her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, the person they said she married to come into our country.” And when she was asked whether she married her brother, Trump said, “she said, not to my knowledge.”

His conclusion was simple. “Because Ilhan used a fake name to be sworn in, I assume that she must immediately resign from Congress,” Trump said. He asked that House Speaker Mike Johnson be told “that the Democrat Party has just conceded the seat of the former Ilhan Omar.”

Trump said she came to America and “immediately announced that my constitutional rights allow me to tell you how to run the United States of America.” With the midterms days away, the President made clear who he thinks should be running it: Americans who love this country.
