President Trump brought the house down in Fort Myers on Friday with a message for the communist regime 90 miles from Florida. “Now, Cuba, he wants to know what about Cuba,” the President said. “Give me a break. Don’t worry. We’ll take care of Cuba on our way back from Iran. We’ll do a little stopover.”
Then he laid out the plan. “What we’re going to do with Cuba is we’re going to come back from Iran, those beautiful ships will pass Cuba. We’ll have one of them stop about 50 yards off the coast. They’ll raise up their hands. And then we’re going to send Marco Rubio in to finish up the deal.” The crowd roared.
The President made clear his Secretary of State could handle it. “Marco, we don’t even have to stop,” he said. “We can just put him in there and he’ll figure it out. He’s a great guy.” For the Cuban American families of South Florida, who have waited decades for a free Cuba, it was the line of the day.
Rubio followed up later Friday afternoon. “To those who seek to create positive change in Cuba – now is the time,” the Secretary posted. “The disappointment of failed promises, corruption, and the privileged lives of only a few; seize this opportunity to create the change you desire through a discrete partnership with the CIA.”
This is Peace Through Strength. The same President who is squeezing Iran’s regime is now telling Havana that its time is short, and the Cuban American son of Miami is the man he wants to send in to close the deal.
