President Trump called out a brazen Democrat scheme in Alaska on Wednesday. “It’s terrible what’s happened in Alaska,” he told reporters before leaving for Ohio. “They created a fake candidate. They took a candidate named Dan Sullivan to run against another candidate who’s a great senator named Dan Sullivan in order to cheat in the election.”

The President said the people behind it denied it, until the truth came out. “They said they didn’t do this. And it turned out they did,” he said, pointing to a New York Times story on the plot. “They said they didn’t do it. And we caught him cold.” Voters, he warned, were never meant to notice: “The people aren’t going to be able to tell.”

President Trump said the Democrat nominee should pay the price. “Mary Peltola should resign from the race,” he said. “I think she should be prosecuted criminally for what she did.” He added: “That’s what they do best. They cheat. They have bad policy, but they cheat.”

“It was a plot by the Democrat Party,” the President said. “I think they should be prosecuted. To me, that’s voter fraud at the highest level.” At his Ohio rally Wednesday night he went further: Peltola “should be removed from the ballot and prosecuted, and so should the fake Dan Sullivan.”

Attorney General Todd Blanche agreed. “Let’s call it what it is: they are cheating,” Blanche said. “They are trying to take votes away from the incumbent, not by running an election and not by running on issues, but by putting up a person with the same name” to confuse Alaskans. President Trump is standing up for honest elections, and Alaska voters now know exactly who tried to fool them.
