One week from Election Day, President Trump laid down the only condition that matters. Asked by a reporter on Tuesday whether he will respect the results whatever happens, the President answered: “I will, if they’re honest elections.”

The reporter had pressed him on what happens if Democrats take the House or the Senate. Trump did not flinch. “We’ll figure a way. Look, I have a strong veto,” he said. “I hope that that won’t be the case.”

“But if it is, that’s happened before with many Presidents,” Trump said. “You have strong veto and you end up working on deals.”

Honest elections have been the President’s fight from day one, from voter ID to clean voter rolls to a $1 million reward for reporting voter fraud that leads to an arrest and conviction. Americans across the political spectrum want the same thing he does: every legal vote counted, and only legal votes.

The message to voters is simple. Turn out, vote, and keep it honest, and the America First agenda will keep winning.
