Tennessee keeps turning out. Through the seventh day of early voting, 577,423 Tennesseans have voted early or absentee, according to Secretary of State data. That is 61 percent ahead of the 357,973 who had voted at the same point in the 2022 midterm.
Wednesday, Oct. 21, was another big day: 86,884 Tennesseans cast ballots, compared with 63,673 on the same day four years ago. Ninety-two of the state’s 95 counties are ahead of their 2022 pace.
Loudon County leads the state with 19.53 percent of registered voters already voting. Williamson (16.23 percent), Cheatham (14.59 percent), Cumberland (14.48 percent) and Wilson (14.19 percent) round out the top five.
The ballot is stacked. Sen. Marsha Blackburn is the Republican nominee for governor against Democrat Jerri Green, and Sen. Bill Hagerty is running for re-election against Democrat Marquita Bradshaw. Voters will also decide three constitutional amendments: one to deny bail for seven serious crimes, one to bar a statewide property tax, and one to expand the rights of crime victims.
Seven early voting days remain. Early voting ends Thursday, Oct. 29, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Bring a valid photo ID, and use the GoVoteTN app to find your polling place and see a sample ballot.
