Sen. Bill Hagerty is making his case to Tennessee in his own words. In a new reelection ad released Thursday, the America First senator tells voters where he comes from. “I was born in Sumner County and raised in a solid middle-class family,” Hagerty says. “My mother was a school teacher and a guidance counselor. My father was a veteran who later worked road construction.”
“As a kid, I bailed hay, I raised livestock, and I shoveled asphalt on the road crew working for my father in the summer heat,” he says. “That’s where I learned the value of hard work. It’s where I learned that faith, family, and freedom aren’t just words. They’re a way of life.”
The former Eagle Scout and Future Farmers of America chapter president says growing up on the land taught him that Tennessee’s beauty is something “we’re responsible for. From the Smoky Mountains to the Mississippi River, this state is worth preserving for our farmers, for our outdoorsmen, and for every generation of Tennesseans yet to come.”
“With your support, we’ll keep Tennessee strong, free, and full of opportunity for generations to come,” Hagerty wrote alongside the ad. “I’d be honored to have your vote.” Earlier this week he said he is running “to help President Trump lower costs and fight for our conservative values.”
Early voting in Tennessee runs through Oct. 29, and Election Day is Nov. 3. Find your polling place at GoVoteTN.gov.
