Tennessee is showing up. Through six days of early voting, 490,534 Tennesseans have already voted early or absentee in the Nov. 3 election, according to the Secretary of State’s daily early-voting report. That is 67 percent more than the 294,221 who had voted at the same point in the 2022 governor’s race.
The pace picked up again on Tuesday, Oct. 20. A total of 93,107 Tennesseans voted that day, compared with 58,822 on the same voting day four years ago. Ninety-two of the state’s 95 counties are now running ahead of their 2022 early-vote pace.
Every corner of the state is in on it. Middle Tennessee has cast 213,345 early and absentee votes, up 90 percent from 2022. East Tennessee is up more than 48 percent at 172,711, and West Tennessee is up more than 59 percent at 104,478. Loudon County leads the state in turnout, with 15.08 percent of registered voters already voting, followed by Williamson at 13.82 percent and Cheatham at 12.75 percent.
Republicans are pushing to keep it going. “Tennessee strong. America FIRST,” Sen. Bill Hagerty posted Wednesday, asking Tennesseans for their vote to help President Trump lower costs. “Early voting ends October 29th. Election Day is November 3rd.”
There are eight voting days left. Early voting runs Monday through Saturday through Thursday, Oct. 29, at your county’s election commission office or any early voting site it opens. Bring a photo ID, and check sample ballots and early voting locations in the state’s GoVoteTN app or at GoVoteTN.com before you go.
