The White House put a price tag on socialism Sunday, and it is steep.
“Imagine prices more than doubling,” the new video says. “That’s the projected increase under the Democratic Socialists of America’s proposed agenda.”
The video lays out the damage: mortgage rates above 12%, millions fewer rental homes, up to 6.9 million fewer jobs, and fewer police resources as fears about public safety grow. It says families could lose over a quarter of their after-tax hourly pay.
“The risks are serious,” the video says. “The decisions we make today will shape tomorrow, and the cost of getting it wrong could be irreversible.”
“Today’s decisions become tomorrow’s consequences,” the White House wrote. “Socialism leads to a dark future America simply cannot afford.” President Trump is building the opposite: lower costs, more jobs and safer streets.
