President Trump gave Michigan the scoreboard on Sunday, and the numbers spoke for themselves.

“Number one, income for Americans is at the highest point ever,” the President told the Port Huron crowd. “More Americans are working today than at any time in the history of our country.”

Then he turned to poverty. “The poverty rate has just reached the best ever in the history of our country,” he said. “African-American poverty, Asian-American poverty, Hispanic-American poverty, Native American poverty are at the best and lowest levels ever recorded.”

And for a state built on making things, he saved the best for last. “Remember Barack Hussein Obama said we’re not a manufacturing country,” Trump said. “Exports have soared to the highest level in American history.”

Record income, record jobs, record-low poverty and record exports. That is the America First economy, and Michigan workers are feeling it.
