WASHINGTON — Vice President JD Vance says President Trump’s Trump Accounts are about more than a savings balance. They are about ownership. In a new clip posted Saturday by the Office of the Vice President, Vance said the accounts mean “participation in America’s capitalist economy.”
“We want a generation of Americans who own something,” the Vice President said. “They’re not just permanent renters. They’re not just people who are cashing a check, paying their rent and trying to get by. They’re able to build real generational wealth.”
Vance said the accounts give every family a piece of America’s success. “Every single child born in this country is going to have a stake. When you see the stock market go up, when you see the economic numbers for the country at large go up, that’s not just something you see on the TV or you hear about. That’s real wealth creation for you, for your children, for your family.”
And the payoff grows with time. “If you’re a one-year-old child, or you’re the parent of a one-year-old who has $2,000 in the Trump account — that’s great, you like that,” Vance said. “But when your kid’s 18 and that $2,000 has become tens of thousands of dollars or maybe even more, that’s when you’re really going to feel the impact. And I think that’s how you transform this country.”
The Vice President summed up the mission in his post: “The fundamental ambition of Trump’s Economic Nationalism is that we’re sick of people feeling like they’re just treading water in their own country. We want you to gain a real stake in the future.” Rapid Response 47 shared the clip Saturday. Watch the Vice President in the video above.
