With nine days to go, President Trump says the midterm map has flipped in Republicans’ favor, and he gave a lot of the credit to the packed rallies.
“I hear that we’ve turned the whole thing around,” the President told reporters Sunday before leaving for Michigan. “Presidents don’t win almost never the midterms. And I think we’ve really turned it around. And, you know, I think the rallies have turned it, frankly, just to be honest.”
He ran down the map. “Ohio is amazing,” Trump said, praising Senator Jon Husted as “one of the best ever” and an all-American football player. “If you look at Nebraska, he’s in great shape. I mean, you can go through so many of them that were down.”
The one problem, he said, is in Alaska, where Democrats have “put another guy named Dan Sullivan, in this case Daniel Sullivan, on the ballot. And that’s very unfair. That’s just outright cheating.” He said “on his own, Dan Sullivan would win easily,” and called ranked choice voting “crooked as can be.”
“People are totally confused. They shouldn’t be confused when voting,” Trump said, asking that the Senator at least be listed as “Senator Dan Sullivan.” Fair elections and a winning map: that is the America First closing message.
