President Trump did not hold back when asked about the attack on the Iwo Jima statue that honors America’s fallen Marines.

Prince William County police say officers found a man actively smashing the statue near Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, with a sledgehammer on the night of Oct. 21. The head of one of the Marines was knocked off, and police put the damage in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. DHS says the suspect, Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano, is an illegal alien from Mexico who had been granted DACA under the Obama Administration.

Speaking to reporters after he and the First Lady voted in Palm Beach, the President was asked what should happen to someone who disrespects a memorial to fallen Marines. “What he did to that beautiful memorial was terrible,” Trump said. “I guess he comes from Mexico. He came in through the border of Biden, the open border of Biden, and we nabbed him.”

“But what he did to that beautiful memorial, very important memorial, was a disgrace,” the President said.

The Marines who raised the flag on Iwo Jima gave everything for this country. Under President Trump, those who desecrate their memory will face justice, and America’s monuments will be protected.
