President Trump gave the critics a simple choice on Sunday. Complain about a few cents at the pump, or face the alternative. “You want to see problems? You want to see not only energy problems, but death problems?” he asked. “Let them have a nuclear weapon, because they would use it.”
“And I have to do that first,” the President said. He made no apology for acting. “Look, we blew the hell out of their nuclear capacity. You know that? Far greater than anyone even thought. It’s gone.”
Trump said he knew the strikes would move prices for a while. “But I knew that that was going to raise the prices a little bit,” he said. Then he pointed to the results: “The oil, just on the front page of the Wall Street Journal yesterday, oil coming out of the Strait of Hormuz is now topping what it was before the war.”
The reason, he said, is American strength at sea. “Because we have a blockade. Our navy has been incredible. We have a naval blockade, and we have more oil coming right now out of the Strait of Hormuz than it was before the war started.”
It is the America First record in one answer: the world’s top sponsor of terror kept from the bomb, its nuclear program wiped out, and the oil flowing again under the watch of the U.S. Navy.
