President Trump put his finger on Europe’s crisis in a single sentence on Monday night. Asked by a reporter whether he is worried the violence in Europe will escalate, the President answered: “I don’t worry about that at all. That’s an immigration problem.”

“They have huge problems,” Trump said. “They should have stopped it a long time ago, and I told every one of them they should do it.”

The President has warned European leaders for years, from the United Nations to the NATO table, that open borders and mass migration would tear their countries apart. Now they are living with the results.

America chose a different path. Under President Trump the border is secured and illegal crossings have been shut down, and he wants it locked in by law so it can never be thrown open again.

Europe is the warning. The President’s answer is the reason America will not follow it.
