Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton is crossing the state in the final days before the election. “Day 4 was a total success! Nearly 1,000 miles across the Volunteer state and we’re not done yet! Ready for Day 5!” Sexton wrote, sharing a video of the tour’s stops.
In Memphis, the focus was public safety. Sen. Bill Hagerty joined Sexton and Rep. David Kustoff to thank the officers of the Memphis Safe Task Force. “The Memphis Safe Task Force is working tirelessly to make Memphis the safest city in America,” Hagerty wrote. “Memphis truly is the model for what is possible when federal, state, and local leaders work together.”
The results speak for themselves. “Over the last 396 days, the Memphis Safe Taskforce has made over 14,000 arrests and found 198 missing children. Crime has dropped astronomically!” Sexton wrote. Hagerty said the officers’ work “helped reunite 198 children with their loved ones.”
“Keeping the public safe shouldn’t be a partisan political issue - all families should feel safe in their communities,” Sexton said, crediting Gov. Bill Lee, Sen. Marsha Blackburn, Sen. Hagerty and President Trump “to take criminals off the street and bring freedom to Memphis!”
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Voters must bring a valid photo ID. Polling locations and sample ballots are at GoVoteTN.gov.
