UPDATE, Wednesday, Oct. 28: Marion, Illinois, police said the resident reported the truck around 10 a.m. Tuesday. Marion officers and the department’s Emergency Response Team, joined by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Williamson County (Ill.) Sheriff’s Department, searched the area around the truck and all of Marion for most of Tuesday without finding Morley, police said. Officers also ran down a possible lead that turned up neither Morley nor any new evidence. As of early Wednesday, no arrest had been reported.

UPDATE, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1 p.m.: The truck Morley stole has been found abandoned in Marion, Illinois, the TBI said Tuesday afternoon. “Morley’s location remains unknown,” the agency said. Anyone with information should call 1-800-TBI-FIND; if you see him, call 911 immediately and do not approach.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is asking for the public’s help to find escaped inmate Jacob Allen Morley, and on Monday it released new video it says shows him stealing a pickup truck in West Tennessee.

According to the TBI, the newly obtained video shows Morley stealing a white 2008 Ford F-350, Tennessee tag 138BBQV, around 1 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, from the 400 block of Keystone Drive in Lake County. The agency said the truck is marked with “Lindamood Planting Company” on the side.

Morley is wanted by the Tennessee Department of Correction and the TBI for escape and has been added to the #TNMostWanted list. The TBI describes him as 6-foot-0 and 270 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair.

The TBI said it is “working closely with our local, state, and federal partners” to locate him. “If you spot Morley or the vehicle, do not approach,” the agency said. “Call 911 or 1-800-TBI-FIND immediately.”

UPDATE, Tuesday evening, Oct. 27: Police in Marion, Illinois, said a local resident who had seen a news report about the escape called TBI after spotting the stolen truck parked behind a business. “There was no evidence that Morley was still in the vicinity of the vehicle,” the Marion Police Department said, adding that a search of the city Tuesday “had negative results on locating Morley.”

UPDATE, Tuesday, Oct. 27: Morley remained at large Tuesday, according to the Associated Press. The Tennessee Department of Correction says a reward of up to $2,500 is available for information leading to his arrest, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol has deployed aviation assets and state troopers to assist with the search. TDOC says officers have searched and cleared buildings and structures in the surrounding area.

TDOC says staff at the Northwest Correctional Complex confirmed Morley was unaccounted for around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, and security cameras showed him breaching the perimeter fence and leaving in his TDOC uniform. He is serving a life sentence out of Carter County for first-degree murder, aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence, evading arrest, and vandalism.

Residents in the area are asked to check home security and doorbell cameras, trail and hunting cameras, and other surveillance systems for possible sightings. Do not approach Morley. Call 911 or 1-800-TBI-FIND.
