Eight days before Election Day, the White House is reminding voters who actually made life expensive. “The Democrats being the party of affordability is a total fraud,” Assistant Press Secretary Olivia Wales said in a clip posted Monday by the White House Rapid Response team.
“You must remember what they did when they had power,” Wales said. “They drove up energy costs. You had the highest inflation in 40 years.”
She then turned to the border. “They threw open the border, allowing millions of unvetted illegal aliens to pour across,” she said. “They took American jobs and American benefits.”
The contrast is the heart of the President’s closing argument. Under Democrat control, families paid more for gas, groceries and rent while the border stood wide open. Under President Trump, the border is sealed and his team is driving prices down, from drug costs to energy.
Democrats can rebrand all they want. Voters remember the receipts.
