The White House summed up President Trump’s answer to his critics in five words on Monday: “Retribution will be through success.” The new video, set against fireworks, marching troops and the American flag, closes with a simple order to supporters: “Stay locked in.”
The success is showing up in the numbers. New preliminary estimates from the Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Crime Victimization Survey, released Monday, show the rate of violent crime excluding simple assault fell 25% from 2024 to 2025, from 9.9 to 7.4 victimizations per 1,000 Americans age 12 or older.
Property crime fell too. The rate of property victimization dropped 19%, from 138.0 to 111.2 per 1,000 households.
“This is what happens when you have an administration who prioritizes the safety and security of Americans and our communities,” Attorney General Todd Blanche said. “President Trump’s Make America Safe Again agenda works.” FBI Director Kash Patel also pointed to Operation Summer Heat 2.0, the Bureau’s second straight three-month surge against violent crime across all 56 field offices.
Safer streets, a secure border and a booming economy. That is the President’s kind of retribution, and the results speak for themselves.
