Interior Secretary Doug Burgum laid out what President Trump’s energy agenda means for ordinary Americans: real money back home. “We have $21 billion of revenue that’s coming in that’s being dispersed back to states, to cities, to counties, to school districts, to tribes, and to individuals that might own mineral rights across those lands,” Burgum said.

He contrasted it with the last administration. “When the Biden administration, when they were opposed to cutting trees, doing grazing, doing mining or developing oil and gas on public land, they were killing the revenue that belongs to the American people,” he said. “The Department of the Interior is showing revenue declines every year under the Biden administration.”

“And so this is President Trump. When we say drill, baby, drill, it’s not just about the oil companies,” Burgum said. “It’s literally if you’re in an energy producing state, your roads, your school districts, your health care, it helps pay for everything.”

“Now turning that around under President Trump, record revenue coming in, record distributions going out to help our local communities,” the Secretary said. “Kudos to President Trump.”

“This is the basis of national prosperity,” Burgum said, “where we actually use the assets of our nation to improve our national security and improve the prosperity of Americans.”
