YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — “Our nation is doing better now than ever before, but the fake news media refuses to talk about our record-setting numbers — so if you don’t mind, I will tell you about them myself.” That was President Donald J. Trump on the Covelli Centre stage Monday, reading the Golden Age scoreboard the legacy networks skip.

Under Republican leadership, he said, “income for hardworking Americans has soared to the highest level ever recorded by far.” More Americans are working today than at any time in the history of the country — and for higher wages than ever before. Then the line Patriots have waited a generation to hear: “The poverty rate has just reached its lowest level in the history of our country.” African American, Hispanic American and Native American poverty rates are at their all-time lowest levels ever recorded.

Markets and mills tell the same story. The stock market has notched about 84 all-time record highs since the election. After years of steel mills and factories closing across Ohio, “our steel industry is roaring back to life, manufacturing is booming and American exports have soared to the highest level in history” — the opposite of Barack Obama’s claim that America would never manufacture again. Saudi Arabia’s king told the President the United States went from “dead” to “the hottest country anywhere in the world.”

That is the Golden Age the midterms are about protecting: rising paychecks, falling poverty, and factories coming home. Watch Rapid Response 47’s video of the President’s Youngstown scoreboard.
