WASHINGTON — “It is not the critic who counts.” The White House marked Columbus Day with a new Official video, “Man in the Arena,” setting Theodore Roosevelt’s famous words over President Donald J. Trump at work — rallies under the lights, salutes with West Point cadets, a shipyard stage, and the Resolute Desk. “The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena,” as Roosevelt put it, “whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly.”
Then the White House posted the receipts. “Top wins from the Trump Administration you may have missed,” it wrote. “President Trump is working harder than ever to make America great again.” The list: the administration began sending checks to 20 million seniors to help cover the cost of Medicare; the U.S. trade deficit has decreased about 20 percent from the same period in 2025; and U.S. exports are up $267.7 billion, roughly 12 percent.
Taxpayers are being protected, too. The Treasury Department announced it has blocked $175 million in federal payments to dead recipients, and the FBI thwarted a terror attack on the Mall of America. Tech firms pledged $2.4 billion in computing power to President Trump’s Genesis Mission, and HHS finalized a rule to improve price transparency in health insurance.
And the Made-in-America boom keeps building: President Trump and Anduril announced a $6.6 billion investment in Arsenal-2, the biggest new American shipyard since World War II, while Becton Dickinson agreed to invest $19 billion in the United States, including $3 billion in American manufacturing. “We’re getting our country back,” the White House posted Monday — and on another graphic: “America is going to win.”
That is the Golden Age scoreboard 22 days before the midterms: a President in the arena every day, and results the critics cannot spin. Watch the Official White House video.
