YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The mills are roaring again, and the President brought the receipts. At the Covelli Centre on Columbus Day, President Donald J. Trump laid out a Buckeye manufacturing surge that Barack Obama once said would never return: “Kimberly-Clark is investing $800 million to build its first new U.S. plant in 37 years, right here in Warren, Ohio.”
Then he brought it home to the Mahoning Valley. “The big steel company, Vallourec, is investing $48 million to expand operations right here in a place called Youngstown. Have you heard of it?” And two months ago, he reminded the crowd, his Administration announced a $500 million investment to modernize Cleveland-Cliffs’ Middletown Works — a Bernie Moreno–backed steel win for Ohio.
Zoom out and the Golden Age math is national: about $21 trillion in new U.S. investment in roughly 15 months, versus less than $1 trillion across four years of the last Administration. Construction workers are “through the roof,” factories are going up coast to coast, and Sen. Jon Husted told Youngstown Ohio has already added about 10,000 manufacturing jobs since President Trump was restored. The President also directed Energy and Commerce to keep Youngstown’s steam-heat utility open for 24 major buildings this winter.
That is Made in America with a Mahoning Valley zip code — plants, steel, heat and hope. Watch Rapid Response 47’s video of the President’s factory boom remarks.
