YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Peace through strength just got a Buckeye ZIP code. On the Covelli Centre stage Monday night, President Donald J. Trump announced that the Department of War has officially selected Cleveland as the new home of the U.S. Navy’s Submarine Component Repair Center. “It’s a big deal that everybody wanted,” the President said, “and it’s going to be right here in Ohio, in Cleveland.”
The facility will span roughly 46,000 square feet and will manufacture, repair and maintain key parts for virtually all new and existing U.S. submarines. “By the way, we make the greatest submarines anywhere in the world,” President Trump told the crowd. “We’re 15 years ahead of number two… Nobody makes submarines [like us] — it’s the most powerful weapon in the world.”
He gave the credit where Patriots give it: to Sen. Jon Husted. “You have to really thank Sen. Jon Husted for this more than probably anybody else. Jon fought for Ohio… That was your deal. Stand up, Jon.” The announcement follows the President’s broader shipbuilding drive — including Arsenal-2, the biggest new American shipyard since World War II — and his direction to rebuild the submarine industrial base.
That is America First industrial policy with a steel-country accent: undersea dominance built at home, jobs for Ohio, and a Commander in Chief who picks winners for Patriots. Watch Rapid Response 47’s video of the announcement.
