KALISPELL, Mont. — President Donald J. Trump told Big Sky Country the public lands belong to them. “Here in the beautiful American West, we really, we consider this to be special. This is special,” he said Tuesday night. “We opened up millions of acres of public land to our hunters, fishers, sportsmen and outdoorsmen because that land belongs to you. It belongs to the American people.”
He named the expansions. “We expanded hunting authorizations for 160 acres of the Hailstone National Wildlife Refuge,” Trump said, joking that he’d take Air Force One and a helicopter there in the morning. He added “over 3,000 acres of Great Lakes Wildlife Refuge” and “31,000 acres at the Medicine Lake National Wildlife Refuge.”
That is the America First land ethic: access for Patriots who hunt, fish, and raise families on the land — not lockups written in Washington for people who never set foot here. It pairs with the Administration’s energy dominance wins in Montana, where Interior expansions at Spring Creek, Rosebud, and Bull Mountains mines support hundreds of high-paying jobs and reliable power.
Three weeks from the midterms, Montana sportsmen know who stands with them. Keep the lands open. Keep the Golden Age going. Watch Rapid Response 47’s video.
