KALISPELL, Mont. — President Donald J. Trump drew a bright Second Amendment line for Montana and the nation. “Everybody here in Montana and all across the nation needs to know that your Second Amendment, which is under siege, is also totally protected with me and my friends over here that are coming with me to Washington. Totally,” he told the Kalispell rally Tuesday night.

He did not soften the stakes. “They want to take your guns away. They will take your guns away if we don’t keep it going,” Trump said. “Nobody has fought for the Second Amendment like me… We gave up nothing. We didn’t move back one foot and it’s going to be that way. But if they get in, your Second Amendment, it’s history.”

Then came the midterm warning. “If the Democrat communists win, they will pack the Supreme Court with radical Marxist, take away your guns,” he said, asking how anyone would like to “live up here without guns” with the wild animals of Montana — and worse. He said that agenda would “leave the law-abiding Americans defenseless while they set loose the savage criminals into your communities.”
