MISSOULA, Mont. — Departing Missoula, President Donald J. Trump stopped on the tarmac to take stock of the midterm blitz. “So we had a big day in Arizona and Montana,” he said in a gaggle posted by the White House. “I think we got a lot of people elected today. The crowds were massive. You just saw a crowd that set a record for that arena. And there were thousands of people outside. You saw the cars all over the place.”

The President said the energy is not staying put. “This whole excitement is spreading far beyond the states where I go,” he said. “So I guess we’ve done about eight of them now.” He said the stops did “great for Dan Sullivan” in Alaska and “fantastic” for Jon Husted in Ohio. “I think we’re having an amazing run.”

He also pulled back the curtain on what these rallies take. “They’re big rallies and you can’t do 15 minutes. You have these people waiting for three days, four days in some cases,” Trump said. “And then they’re screaming more and more. And I’m saying, well, you know, I just spoke for two hours.” His message to the reporters traveling with him: “I just want to thank you. I hope you people are enjoying it.”

“I’ve won my election,” Trump said, but “I think there’s a great thing happening and the people see what we’ve accomplished.” And he closed with a promise on the world stage: the Iran war “will end very soon… They’ll never have a nuclear weapon and oil prices will drop like a rock.” Three weeks from Election Day, the Golden Age momentum is real.
