BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. — President Donald J. Trump drew a bright national-security line in the Michigan Senate race on Wednesday. Asked on the tarmac whether he was concerned about Democrat nominee Abdul El-Sayed and the Muslim Brotherhood, the President did not hesitate.
“Yeah, he’s a member of the Muslim Brotherhood,” Trump said. “He said that years ago. He was a proud member.” Then he made the stakes plain: “And you can’t have a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in Congress being on one of our security committees, right?”
The President contrasted that with the Republican in the race. “You have in Mike Rogers such an amazing candidate,” he said. “He’s apple pie. He’s all apple pie. And that’s what our country needs.” Rogers, a former congressman and House Intelligence Committee chairman, is the GOP nominee for Michigan’s open Senate seat. “We don’t need the Muslim Brotherhood in as a senator,” Trump added.
Michigan is next on the President’s map. “I’m doing Michigan too, as you know, I’m doing Michigan in a few days,” he said, part of a midterm push that also takes him back to Ohio and Texas. For Patriots in the Great Lakes State, the message from the tarmac was simple: send Mike Rogers to the Senate on Nov. 3. Watch Rapid Response 47’s video.
