WASHINGTON — The White House drew a bright red line on Thursday. In an official “Escape from socialism” video pointing Americans to Arcade.gov, President Donald J. Trump said what Patriots have always known: “America will never be a socialist country.”

He went further. “What I didn’t say is what they’re trying to do — they want to skip socialism. They want to go right down to the bottom of the barrel. That’s communism. They want it to be a communist country,” the President said. His answer was absolute: “We’re not letting them have it as a communist country, not even for a minute, not even for a minute.”

Then the Golden Age mission statement: “Together, we will defeat communism, socialism and Marxism in America once and for all.” Trump warned that ideology “always goes down, but sometimes it takes a lot of people with it… You got to nip it in the bud,” and reminded voters that Democrats in Congress who claim to stand for working people “voted against our tax cuts” and “voted against securing the border.”

The same day, the White House released “It’s Not a ‘Socialist Revolution.’ It’s Misery, Starvation, and Death,” citing a Council of Economic Advisers report that puts the ten-year cost of the socialist agenda — Medicare for All, open borders, mass amnesty, abolishing police and prisons, and the Green New Deal among them — at $49 trillion, or as much as $400,000 per American household, financed by tax hikes that slash wages by nearly 30%. Socialist and communist regimes, the release notes, have killed some 100 million people.
