East Tennessee remembers who was there when the water came. Carter County Mayor Patty Woodby says Marsha Blackburn was. “When Hurricane Helene went through Carter County, we were hurting,” Woodby said in a new video from Blackburn’s campaign. “She just didn’t send a statement and move on or show up for a photo walk. She showed up, visiting with families in the community, and she’s still showing up for us.”
“Tennessee is the crown jewel of the conservative South, a state built on faith, family, and hard work,” Woodby said. “We’ve earned that reputation, and we need a governor who will protect it and build upon it.”
“Marsha Blackburn has fought for us in Nashville, in the House, and in the Senate. And she’s never forgotten where she came from,” the mayor said. “Here in East Tennessee, we don’t forget who stood with us. She’s ready to make Tennessee America’s conservative leader, and I believe she will do exactly that.”
Tennesseans are turning out. State figures show 815,354 early and absentee votes cast through Saturday, Oct. 24, about 54% ahead of the same point in 2022. Secretary of State Tre Hargett has urged voters not to wait: “Car batteries die, kids get sick.”
The final week of early voting starts today and runs through Thursday, Oct. 29. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
