Tennessee’s emergency managers moved fast as floodwaters hit Polk County. At 8:25 a.m. CT on November 5, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency activated the State Emergency Operations Center to Level 4 because of flooding in Polk County.
“At this time, the flooding is expected to remain through this evening,” TEMA said. Officials urged Tennesseans to avoid flooded roads and follow all local official guidance — the first rule of flood safety that saves lives.
Governor Bill Lee and First Lady Maria Lee asked Tennesseans to join them in praying for families impacted by the flooding. “@TennesseeEMA is coordinating a whole-of-government rescue and response effort, and we are in close contact with our partners in Georgia,” the Governor posted.
That is competent, America First state government: activate early, coordinate agencies, warn the public, and work across the state line when the water does. TEMA’s Level 4 posture puts rescue and response resources where Polk County needs them.
Patriot Oasis will continue following official TEMA and Governor’s Office updates. Avoid floodwaters, listen to local officials, and keep Polk County families in your prayers.
