America is running the G20 again, and it shows. Secretary of State Marco Rubio hosted the world’s top economies in Atlanta this weekend for the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. “Welcome to Atlanta,” he told them. “This is what I think has been a very productive ministerial.”
“Together I think that we are mapping a vibrant, dynamic and bold economic future, one that will pioneer new horizons for the entire world,” Rubio said. His team, he said, wants to make sure the December Leaders’ Summit “is as successful as it possibly can be.”
Rubio said the goal is “policies that advance our common interests and help our nations prosper for generations to come.” The State Department said he “led @G20org countries back to their core mission: Drive economic growth and strengthen economic security.”
The U.S. G20 presidency wraps up in December with the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Miami, which the State Department says will deliver “results and wins for the American people and the world.”
Under President Trump, the G20 is back to growth, security and real results. Next stop: Miami.
