Congressman Tim Burchett did his part on Monday. “Hey everybody, Tim Burchett, just early voted,” the East Tennessee Republican said in a video with his wife, Kelly. “Please get out and vote.”

Burchett kept it light, joking that he hoped Kelly voted for him. But the message was serious: “Early voting if you can. There’s no lines right now,” he said from Gibbs in Knox County. “A lot of folks have voted early, but please get out and vote.”

Tennesseans are answering the call. More than 815,000 had voted early or absentee through Saturday, and Secretary of State Tre Hargett encouraged every registered voter who has not voted yet to “make a plan and take advantage of this convenient opportunity.”

Early voting runs through Thursday, Oct. 29, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Bring a current or expired photo ID issued by the federal government or the State of Tennessee, and review the three proposed constitutional amendments on the ballot.
