BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. — In the middle of a two-state campaign day, President Donald J. Trump paused on the tarmac Wednesday to send a message to the Vatican. “I want to see Pope Leo get well,” he told reporters.

The President spoke plainly about the Holy Father’s illness and his hope for the road ahead. “I hear the prognosis for that type of a problem. It’s cancer. It’s big stuff. Anytime you have cancer,” he said. “But the prognosis seems to be good, I’ve watched. And we just want to wish him our love and our best wishes.”

He also shared a personal connection. “His brother’s a friend of mine, who’s a fantastic guy, and his wife,” Trump said. “You know, they’re big Trump supporters. They have MAGA all over the house. And I can say that his brother loves him a lot, loves the Pope a lot. And that’s good. That’s good enough for me.”

The Administration is united in prayer. Vice President JD Vance posted earlier Wednesday that “our family continues to pray for the good health and full recovery of Pope Leo XIV,” a message the White House shared. The President closed with four simple words for the first American pope: “Get better fast.” Watch Rapid Response 47’s video.
