CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — President Donald J. Trump brought the receipts to Tennessee on Saturday. “It was just announced that under the Republican leadership, incomes for hardworking Americans have soared to the highest level ever recorded,” the President told a packed F&M Bank Arena. “See, that’s a stat that the fake news never says.” And he noted the numbers come from federal statisticians who, he joked, “lean left,” but “they certainly give us good numbers.”

The numbers are as strong as he said. The U.S. Census Bureau’s annual report shows real median household income reached $87,460 in 2025, up 2.6% from $85,210 the year before and the highest on record dating back to 1967. Measured after taxes and credits, the typical household’s income jumped even faster, up 3.1% to $76,060, as the Trump tax cuts put more money back in working families’ pockets.

Poverty is falling just as fast. The official poverty rate dropped half a point to 10.2%, its third consecutive annual decline and a near all-time low. The child poverty rate fell a full point to a historic low of 13.4%, and the poverty rate for Hispanic Americans fell 1.2 points to a historic low of 13.9%. “American poverty, Hispanic American poverty, and Native American poverty rates are at their lowest levels, best levels ever in the history of our country,” the President said.

He stacked the wins. “More Americans are working today than at any time in the history of our country,” he said, and “the stock market has broken every record,” counting 84 all-time highs since the election. “The poverty rate is the best. The income rate is the best. The most people are working,” he said. “You know, I should just say those few stats and then just say, thank you, everybody, please go out and vote for us on the midterms… Those stats are perfect.”

That is the Golden Age in black and white: bigger paychecks, fewer families in poverty and more Americans on the job. With early voting in Tennessee starting Wednesday and Election Day on November 3, the President’s message is simple: keep the Republican majorities and keep the record-breaking going.
