WASHINGTON — Build it here. Power it here. Pay Americans first. On Thursday, October 8, 2026, the White House laid out how President Donald J. Trump is “putting American industry, jobs, and paychecks back on the map,” stacking a run of steel, nuclear, gas, shipbuilding and medical manufacturing commitments that hire American workers and harden American security. The message is the same one Patriots have waited years to hear: Washington is done exporting the paycheck.
The steel headline is historic. Mesabi Metallics will build a $15 billion steel complex in Iowa — the largest steel plant ever built in the United States — fed by American iron ore and driven by the Trump Administration’s steel tariffs. The fully integrated mine-to-mill project is expected to create 1,750 permanent jobs, support up to 6,000 construction jobs, and generate about $95 billion in economic output. At the same time, Arsenal-2 with Anduril moves forward in Maryland as the biggest new American shipyard push since World War II: about 3,100 direct jobs, more than 11,000 indirect jobs, $3.7 billion in private capital and up to $2.9 billion in Navy support for Virginia-class components and large assemblies.
Energy and medicine are coming home too. President Trump unveiled a South Korean investment package of up to $200 billion in the United States — as much as $120 billion for eight large-scale nuclear plants, $54 billion tied to the Alaska LNG pipeline, and $22.3 billion for a six-gigawatt natural gas power facility in Texas — while Vice President Vance announced $150 million from DOE for a 223-mile Alaska transmission line from Beluga to Healy. Becton Dickinson is putting $19 billion into America, including $3 billion to expand manufacturing so that 100% of the needles it sells here are made with American steel. AstraZeneca added a $1 billion Massachusetts expansion under its $50 billion Most Favored Nation commitment.
That is the industrial scoreboard behind the America First wage fight. The same day, the White House Fraud Task Force hammered corporations that lay off American workers and replace them with cheap H-1B labor — undercutting paychecks the President is working to restore. Build the plants, man the yards, make the medicine here, and stop the visa scam that steals the job.
